Just a small victory this weekend and a little bit o' pain to go with it. My IT band was fairly cooperative on the weekend run of 18 miles. I had to stop a few times to "work it out", but was able to get back to speed and finish the run. However, at about 6 miles into the run my left foot began to blister. As the run progressed I could feel the thing getting bigger and hurting worse. As if I could just be able to have a good run while fighting injury- yeah right - I HAVE to have something hurt while I run. Turning 30 sucks.
Look at the size of that bad boy, it's like the size of two quarters. A little alcohol, neosporin, and some giant band-aids and the thing felt pretty good by Sunday.
On to see what this week brings...
The picture doesn't do it justice - this thing was huge, but not all that filled up - some must've leaked during the run. Dang it hurt though.

How can you say no?
This is face I got the other day when just Ella and I went to the store to pick up some groceries. In each aisle was the inevitable kid question, "can I have a treat?". Look at what aisle we're in... the cereal aisle. It was "can I have some Lucky Charms, I want some of those, I want that" for a good 100 feet. And then, Ka-Blamo, she pulled the face. Needless to say I am a softy for my little princess and her manipulative girl powers. We veered down the candy aisle and got her some Dots.
Even then, at the checkout, she was asking, "can I have that?". You gotta love it... even if it does drive you crazy.

AAARRGGGHHH
My knee has finally made me bow down. I scheduled a dr. appt. for 4/1 to go and see what's really going on with it. I'm 90% confident that I have IT band syndrome. And, I'm pretty sure it's because of running on crowned roads and ramping up my mileage too quickly. Up until now I've been able to ice it, stretch it, and rest it to get through the long runs on the weekend. But, after this last weekend it's not working anymore. So, in the meantime I'm going to baby it and see when it will get better.
Michelle's probably sick of my talking about it by now and thinks I'm a weenie I bet. Oh well, I'll go suck my thumb somewhere in a corner.
Yours truly,

Soooooooooo Glad it's Friday
This is what I feel like at work today, not tired, but worn out from all of the work that's come down the tube this week. After working for about 13 hours yesterday and then getting in here today bright and early I think I am close to hitting "the wall" (and it's only 10:30).
At least I know that the people I'm on the phone with can't see me doing this. Conference calls, escalations, policy changes, changing things weekly... it catches up. Can you say countdown to Hawaii?
Gotta run... someone said my name and I don't know what they want.
