Pain and Glory

Just a small victory this weekend and a little bit o' pain to go with it. My IT band was fairly cooperative on the weekend run of 18 miles. I had to stop a few times to "work it out", but was able to get back to speed and finish the run. However, at about 6 miles into the run my left foot began to blister. As the run progressed I could feel the thing getting bigger and hurting worse. As if I could just be able to have a good run while fighting injury- yeah right - I HAVE to have something hurt while I run. Turning 30 sucks.

Look at the size of that bad boy, it's like the size of two quarters. A little alcohol, neosporin, and some giant band-aids and the thing felt pretty good by Sunday.

On to see what this week brings...

The picture doesn't do it justice - this thing was huge, but not all that filled up - some must've leaked during the run. Dang it hurt though.

Delicious! You have to walk away with something after you put in an 18 miler. Are you doing a marathon?
